7th Armoured Division – Desert Rats “All of one company.”
The British 7th Armoured Division, the famous “Desert Rats”, is one of the most famous formations that ever served in the British Army. Formed in Northern Africa just before World War II, these units fought in most of the major campaigns of the war and ended up in Berlin for VE Day. Bearing the red jerboa as the division insignia, the “Desert Rats” are most famous for their successful campaign against a more numerous Italian army in the early stages of WWII. Today, the red jerboa is carried on by the 7th Armoured Brigade.
The 7th Armoured Division – Desert Rats (7-BDR) is one of three clans that make up the Royal Armoured Corps (RAC) family of clans. This is the main Tank Company clan. The other clans in the RAC include the 8th KRIH and the 5th RTR. At present we are looking for social tankers who platoon often, skill is secondary concern but would be appreciated.
